How to compare heights

Enter measured heights

Choose a preset from People, Celebrities or Objects to add it to the canvas. On a phone or tablet, open Add to browse the library. Select a figure to edit its name, height and color in Properties, then choose Apply changes. Open On canvas to manage the items already in your lineup. Valid edits also apply when you select another item. Drag figures to reorder them, use the lineup arrows, or sort tallest first. Undo and redo let you recover earlier changes. The example pair starts at 165 cm and 180 cm.

Read the chart and difference

Figures share one scale and stand on the same baseline. For two people, the difference is the taller height minus the shorter height. With three or more, the summary compares the tallest and shortest.

For example, 180 cm − 165 cm = 15 cm, or approximately 5.9 inches. The chart has centimeter and feet rulers, and each height is displayed in both unit systems. Zoom changes the scale while the rulers stay at the edges. Select the hand icon beside the zoom controls to drag anywhere on a zoomed chart, including over figures. On a computer, you can also hold Space while dragging. Turn the hand tool off to edit again, or choose Fit to see the whole lineup. Open Canvas to change the background, upload a background image, show or hide the grid and labels, or add up to 10 height reference lines. Drag a reference line to adjust its height.

Illustrations show relative height; they do not recreate someone’s body shape or posture. People and object presets are editable examples, so use your own measurements when accuracy matters.

Height comparison questions

What the chart shows and how to use it.

Can I compare heights in feet and inches?

Yes. Choose ft / in in the site header or Properties. For 5 feet 9 inches, enter 5 feet and 9 inches separately. You can also use the height converter to check a measurement.

Can I compare more than two people?

Yes. Add up to 20 people or objects and edit each height independently. Use Fit chart to see everyone, or zoom in and use the hand icon to drag the view in any direction. You can remove any item or clear the chart, then undo if you change your mind.

Does the illustration change the height calculation?

No. Each illustration is scaled to the entered height from the top of the artwork to its baseline. The illustration choice does not change the measurement or the calculated difference.

Does this predict my adult height?

No. This tool visualizes the heights you enter. To estimate future adult height, use the height predictor. To compare a child’s current height with an age-specific reference, use the height percentile calculator.

How do I save or share a comparison?

Open Export on a phone or tablet, or use the toolbar on a larger screen. Save PNG downloads the complete chart, including items outside the current view. Share creates a link containing your names, heights, silhouettes, colors, background color and reference lines. Anyone with the link can open a copy. Custom images and background images are included in PNG downloads, but cannot be shared in a link.

Can I add an object or my own image?

Yes. Objects includes everyday items, animals and plants with editable example heights. Choose Image for a PNG, JPEG or WebP under 5 MB, then enter the actual height. Image height includes the full image bounds, so crop away empty space first. Images are processed locally and are not uploaded.

Where do celebrity heights come from?

Celebrity presets include a link to the source of their listed height. The figure is a generic silhouette, not a portrait. You can change the height to compare a different measurement.

Are my labels and heights saved?

Entries stay in page memory until you explicitly save a PNG or create a share link. They are not stored in browser storage or sent to an application server. Refreshing starts again, unless you opened a comparison link. Only your unit preference is remembered.
